Hello there! I'm Narelle, a Virtual CFO and Business Coach from Camberwell, Victoria. My entrepreneurial parents inspired my passion for business.

I started my career in the accounting profession and became a Chartered Accountant. I worked in large corporations and gained great experience, but I thrived when I joined SMBs.

My mission? To help owners run more successful businesses by helping them master their financials. There's nothing quite as rewarding as guiding business owners to control their financials, enabling them to make better decisions and achieve outstanding results. While boosting profit, cash flow, and business value is thrilling, my heart-felt satisfaction lies in reducing business owners' stress and working hours, allowing them to enjoy their financial success and quality time with loved ones.

Q: Are you a business, contractor or employee?
A: I contract my services through my business, Johnson Consulting Services, and provide financial advisory services to business owners.

Q: Do you do compliance work?
A: I focus on business advisory and don’t provide compliance services such as preparing annual accounts, income tax returns or ASIC filing.

Q: Can you work with my compliance Accountant and Bookkeeper?
A: I work collaboratively with your compliance Accountant and Bookkeeper. I work closely with the Bookkeeper to ensure the data flowing into the financial systems is accurate and up to date. I collaborate with your compliance Accountant as needed.

Q: What size does my company need to be to require a Virtual CFO?
A: Businesses with revenue greater than $1M will benefit from the services of a Virtual CFO. Most of my clients have revenue between $1M and $6M, but sometimes their revenue exceeds $6M.

Q: How do you charge for your services?
A: I charge for my services on a solution or retainer basis, and some projects attract hourly rates. I expect fair compensation for the value I deliver to the business owner.

Q: Do you only work in Professional Services?
A: I specialise in these industries, although I can provide services to most businesses in various industries. If I don’t feel I have the right skills and experience for your business, I will let you know, as I only take on work where I know I can deliver exceptional value.

Q: Do you offer services to businesses across their entire life cycle?
A: I don’t work with start-up companies. I work with established business owners who want to optimise their business to maximise profitability, cashflow and growth.

Q: Do you offer services remotely and face-to-face?
A: My office is in Camberwell, Victoria. I like to meet face-to-face where possible. However, I work effectively online for clients Australia-wide.

Q: How long have you provided Virtual CFO and business coaching services?
A: I have provided Virtual CFO and Business Coaching services through Johnson Consulting Services since 2020. Before that, I provided Virtual CFO services as a freelancer for several years.
